With Headbang Today’s very own compilation metal album in the pipeline, it comes to no surprise that we’re on the hunt for candidate bands to feature on our album. With that being said, I couldn’t help but asses MYG’s worthiness of making it to our album. With a dramatic song intro promptly plunging me into MYG’s complete heaviness, I could also not help but relish the rich mixture of heavy metal elements baked into this single track. Upon a first listen, there are hints of chaos that makes one hope that some sense of rhythm would resume rather quickly. But as such a thought leaves the mind, talent resumes. ‘Rise To Die’ also breaks into an early heavy chorus and as the vocals remain consistently heavy throughout the song, I’d like to divert attention to the track’s 2:28 mark where the vocalist reaches his heaviest number during the song. That very substance of heavy screamery would’ve made this song so much more epic if it was introduced in the very first chorus. I was never meant to analyse the track to this extent, but MYG’s opulent diversity in gut-wrenching metal solidity made this one monster of a review for me.  I love the track so much that I even noticed a minor, yet uncalled-for change in guitars within the first quarter of the solo. This goes without the fact that the awesome build up to the much anticipated breakdown could do with heavier, deeper screams. But that’s irrelevant. What’s relevant is that I headbanged. So as for the final conclusion… are ‘Murder Your God’ a band worthy of inclusion in our upcoming compilation? Are they a screamgazmic and headbangable?  Hell yeah they are! (PS +1 point for heavy riffs!)
